About Us
Sue and Mike McLean established Dunsandel Childcare and Preschool Limited after the need for a rural care and education service became evident. Locating an ideal property in the heart of Dunsandel in 2001, Sue and Mike set out to convert this property to a childcare Centre. Dunsandel Childcare and Preschool opened its doors to the community in January 2002 and has been providing quality care and education services ever since.
Dunsandel Childcare and Preschool celebrated 20 years of service in 2022. The Centre strive’s to provide a quality service for the local communities and the wider rural communities within the Selwyn district.

About:
Sue and Mike are the company directors for Dunsandel Childcare and Preschool.
Sue has a background in accounting and business management. Starting a family with her husband Mike led her to a career change into Early Childhood Education. In 2004 Sue completed a Diploma of Teaching ECE, a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning ECE in 2006 and full teacher registration in 2007.
Sue embraces the importance of early childhood as being one of the most significant times in a person’s life. Sue also has a hand in mentoring the senior management team.
Mike has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the building/construction industry and in business management. Raised as a local Dunsandel man, Mike has embedded his community spirit throughout their centre.
